Immortality, Fact or fiction?
January 29, 2006, 3:18PM

by: M0nk

First of all, let’s have a look at how we shall define Immortality. Does it mean a person who will never die? Or does it mean a person who will live much longer than would be thought mortally possible?

Throughout history there have been accounts of humans living for hundreds of years, many of them are familiar to all of us. Vampires for instance have been called immortal and in one way or another almost every culture has an account in it’s mythology of a mysterious sub human creature who lives for hundreds of years in many cases these persons can quite happily walk in daylight, unlike Dracula who seems to have become the template for the modern understanding of an immortal.

Looking at things practically and scientifically we see some instances of animal and plant life surviving for century’s. The Madagascar radiated tortoises have been known to live for 188 years, researchers in Pennsylvania have discovered a living plant that is a remnant of the last Ice Age. Using the known rate of growth if this self-sterile plant, they estimated that this 1/4-acre colony is over 13,000 years old. The oldest recorded Koi (Big goldfish thing) is 226 yrs. I have not included bacteria which can survive for millions of years.

Ok, I understand if you don’t want to be given examples of plants and animals but let’s look at the best selling book of all time, ever. The Holy Bible mentions a man called Methuselah who was the grandfather of Noah he lived to be 969 yrs old. Noah himself hung in there for 950 yrs. Also mentioned is Abraham who died at the age of 127 and his wife lived to 127. Now I am not saying that I support the bible but it’s simply the most famous historical reference I can give.

What I wonder are there humans these days who live to be this age? Everyone knows that it’s possible to fake your own death and in many cases it seems that these long lives run in family’s and usually this leads to amassed wealth through property making the secrecy even easier.

Biologically speaking it’s not that far out there, a person can live for quite a few more years than normal and our organs are not all worn out after we die hence the organ donation program. Even a person who dies at the age of 90 has organs with many years life left in them. We have not ever considered a strain of humanity that is more evolved and has the ability to hibernate for long periods of time.

I find it an interesting subject and would like to hear your thoughts.

Study Buddies Aren't All Bad
January 25, 2006, 8:12PM

by: DJ_WinPhreak

I am not an expert on the underground drug community and the black market based thereof. I am, however, aware that prescription drugs have become the new choice for this generation. Rx abuse has grown significantly, and, to me, does not seem a problem. There are people for legalization of marijuana or other drugs, but I can, for once, understand someone abusing a prescription substance.

Now, before I get any harsh criticism about drug use, I want to explain my point of view on how it affected me, and why others have endulged as well. This is an account of emotional, mental, and physical effects of the "study buddy" drug Adderall (Amphetamine / Dextroamphetamine)

My first time was the best. It always is. No expectations, no ideas. Just a test to see if it works. I took 40mg of Adderall XR. Within the hour, they had an effect. I was attentive to everything. Not i na paranoid state, but in a focused state. I re-organized many things out of sheer boredom. Any notes to take down were taken down with extra, personal side notes. All work was done within less time it normally takes. In fact, it was euphoria. I never felt so painfree. No anxiety or depression, which is commonplace in my normal routine, but the ability to work and converse and be happy. The other, noticable, side effeects included insomnia, hunger supression, a heavy pulse, and pupil dilation. I didn't eat lunch, and for dinner I barely managed to eat a slice of bread. I did not sleep either. I simply laid down for 6 hours, thinking on various thoughts, then closed my eyes and faked sleepiness in the morning. The buzz gradually wore off over the night, so the day after was normal feeling.

Then, however, came the crash down period. Though it was rough, the more times I've used it, the less time I spend crashing. The worst symptom is a horrible depression. It is not just emotional, it is physical as well. All the time in euphoria causes the brain to, basically, run out of happiness. For the next week, I felt like complete feces. I wouldn't even talk really, just sit there for a while. After that week, I slowly drifted back to normal. Currently, I only spend a day or so to crash out. It could be tolerance, but I doubt so.

Now, as a first hand account, some can see why it is used by 15% of the teenage populace. College students are more prone to abuse. However, in all those stats, I have yet to see one case of a decent dose causing a hospital visit. That's because it would take 400mg-500mg for a toxic dose. However, the circulatory system does get treated roughly. The pulse raises about 40% on average for a healthy person abusing the substance. This means high-intensity exercise could cause cardiac arrest.

In all my times abusing it, I have yet to see a reason to stop. As long as you do not become addicted, and only use occasionally, it is, to me, my perfect drug.

Being Gay is Against Nature!
January 19, 2006, 8:01AM

by: M0nk

Being gay is against nature, if you believe this please read on. I have heard this many, many times so let’s look at the facts shall we?

1. Wearing clothes is against nature, but we all do it (well most of us). So we should all stop wearing clothes perhaps? Sounds good to me!

2. How many of us shave, or cut our hair? This is against nature, we have hair to keep us warm.

3. Makeup and moisturiser, many people both male and female wear makeup and moisturise regularly. This is against nature, our skin is in crap state because of our diets. Nothing is properly natural now, even the water we drink has chemicals in it.

4. We cook our food, no other animal does this so it’s against nature.

Television, alcohol, cars and even prolonging life is all against nature, sick animals can’t hunt and die, if you loose a leg in nature you are screwed. Going against nature is what makes us human, and in many cases it’s a good thing.

One last fact, homosexuality is frequently found in nature, many flowers have both male and female organs and every mammal from elephants to mice have a portion of gay members. We are the only species that seems to have a problem with homosexuality. It would seem that being against homosexuality, is against nature.

By the way, I am a heterosexual male who has been married for over two years and my wife is pregnant with twins.

Marriage is about love.

My name is PFC Corley. I joined the Amry on 28 SEP 04. I know exactly how LifeofaDeadMan feels. We have some really wierd things asked of us. Although most people wouldn't understand, we are one family. The Veterans who thank us and those people out there who do the same have my deepesdt gratitude. Those of you who don't think that the military should do what it does, please think again. We are the ones who fight for you, so that you can have the freedom to express your thoughts and opinions without being imprisoned. Please, just take these words into consideration.

The following article is an Email I received rom my oldest brother. The email was titled "Letter From Christ." I don't know how many people out there follow religion, but I have studied many different religions and many different cultures. If the words contained herein offend you, I am obligated to say that I appologize. Please don't send me any comments or emails or instant messages of any negative conotation. I did not write the words below. And remember, they are just words. The meanings they depict are in your hands to decipher.

Dear Believers,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking my name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of you're predecessors that decided to celebrate my birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival.

How I personally feel about this celebration canprobably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate my birth just, GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Now that I have that off my chest let me go on.

If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting my birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity on your own front lawn. If all my followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be one every few feet all over town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a "holiday tree" instead of a Christmas tree. That tree never actually symbolized me anyway. The tree was a part of an old pagan ritual. People just started calling it by my name, then a few folks added an angel on top and a Nativity at the bottom to remind them of my birth.

If you want to give me a give me a present in remembrance of my birth here is my wish list just choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way my birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up it with nice hearing from you.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of my birth. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that's hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt take their own life this season because they are feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families.

8. Finally if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to me. Then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in my presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Finally don't ever forget that I'm God I can take care of myself. All you need to do is obey my commandments and let me take care of the rest.

Sucks to be the MPAA: DVD±R DL Drives
January 11, 2006, 1:03AM

by: eon

Anyone else getting a kick out of the fact that they are now making very good (and very cheap) dual layer (and double layer) DVD burners?

I picked up a very nice Sony DVD±R DL drive for a mere $80 at my local Wally World. Other than the obvious practical uses for a CD that can store 8GB of data, this is also the first format that makes copying movie DVDs (DVD9 discs) simple and lossless.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who, a year or so ago, struggled with programs like DVDXCopy which tried to squish standard DVD9 movie discs onto the then standard DVD5 (single layer) burnt discs. It was an alright idea and made the best use of available technology at the time.

The DVD5 disks held 4.38GB of data and the movie DVDs held up to 7.95GB. So programs like DVDXCopy would squash the video with high compression (some quality loss) to fit the movie onto a burnt disk. You also had the option of leaving out special features, versions, audio formats, etc. (ick) to help it fit with less compression or setting the movie up to span 2 burnt disks and having to switch them out to view certain features or formats (double ick!).

Then came the MPAA with their armada of lawyers. They crushed 321 Studios (authors of the aforementioned software) in a long, nasty legal battle. Soon, it became pretty much impossible to find any software that would go anywhere near the topic of making movie DVD "backups". It seemed that greed ruled the day and even those of us who were innocently making backups of movies we legitimately owned (right, I know!) would be locked out in the cold.

And that brings us back to my new Sony DRU-810A drive. It's a very simple matter to use programs such as Nero to make identical (perfect) copies of movie DVDs onto the new DL disks. To my experience, these disks play flawlessly in most of the newer (and lots of the older) set-top DVD players. No missing features, no degraded video, just a perfect copy of a regular movie DVD. Previously, a holy grail of sorts.

Some of you will immediately interject with your "but, but! Most movie discs are encrypted and DVD copy software like Nero won't read encrypted discs!". To which I say, do a quick bit of research. Google for "DVD43" and yea, verily, the problem is solved.

The MPAA will have a hard time stopping software which does the single job of decryption without actually making copies. Nero by itself can't do the dirty deed and DVD43 by itself can't do it either. Neither program alone is illegal so it's up to us to decide what to do when we just so happen to have both programs running on the same computer.

I don't know about you guys, but I suddenly have a lot of perfectly legal "backing up" to do!

A review of the drive.

Brian Deneke 1978 - 1997
January 10, 2006, 4:12PM

by: BloodyDolly27

Over the years many people have changed our world, our society. One in particular would be Brian Deneke. He made a great impact on how society viewed people in Armarillo, Texas. He wasn't famous but he changed many lives forever.

He was born in 1978 and died in 1997. Unfortunately his life span wasn't as long as it should have been, for it was taken away from him. He was an individualist and his own person. He was a son, a brother and a friend to many. He was caring and very thoughtful. People seem to get the wrong impression of him because of the way he looked. But this never stopped him from being him, until his life flashed before his eyes one night with his friends.

Down in Texas being different or not being "normal" was a big deal. Brian and a group of kids were considered "punks", making them abnormal and their rivals the "jocks" being the normal ones. Feuding between the two groups have been going on for months before the inncident. A lot of name calling in the hallways at school, mainly Tascosa High and Armarillo High. The punks were always being jumped by the jocks during and after school. Even at schooling events did this go on. One night just went over the top when one of the jocks, Dustin Camp, murdered Brian.

Dustin drove a Cadillac, which is heavier then any human being and would crush them instantly if were hit. Brian was walking down the street with is back turned towards the cars. Dustin was driving straight at him and Brian didnt know what was going to happen, until Brian turned around to see the car right in front of him. Hitting him, throwing his body on top of the car then rolled underneath the car as the car kept going. Brians body was smashed and blood was flowing everywhere. Brian left with a smashed skull and a nearly popped out collarbone. Dustin didnt take a second look and just kept driving. There were over fifty witnesses that seen what happened, but all fled when he was hit. There were also two other people in the car with Dustin. They had no choice but to watch him drive over his body killing him instantly.

Dustin dropped his friends off at thier houses and went back to his own. No one would be able to wait until morning to tell their parents. After the parents were informed, the neighborhood was talking which brought the police into it. Nothing happened that night and everyone was free to sleep with the tragedy on thier mind.

The next morning the police came to Dustins house putting him under arrest. Dustin doesnt have any criminal records or traffic tickets, making him a clean kid. To make sure that he was the guy that murdered Brian, the police had a warrant to search the car for any needed evidence. On the hood of the car there were just dents, but on the underside there was splattered blood. When all was done he was charged with murder and would take trial in court.

During the court trial, defense attorny Warren L. Clark gave his peace. Warren agreed that Brian was obsurd and was abnormal. Since Dustin was considered normal and was a clean kid, they used that as Dustin would never do something like this. In the end the defendents plan worked and Dustin walked free and was convicted of manslaughter not murder. He was also charged a ten-thousand dollar fine and the fine was even probated. He was put on probation for ten years and he never spent one day behind bars.

Many of the people who knew that Dustin was guilty were very outraged. This caused the town to seperate into two sides. Many of the people who were on Dustin's side disagreed and switched to Brian's side.
Years passed and the jocks and punks werent rivals after this for they realized that it was just stupid. Hating one another was not worth someones death, and many of the jocks do not like talking about how they ever hated someone for being different. If Brian didnt die this feud may still be going on, but as far as we know Brians death was the big impact of equality in society's people in Armarillo, Texas.

People in Brians family and his friends are still fused and will never forget him. Brian will be in many of our hearts and will never be forgotten. As for Dustin he still walks about today living his life one day at a time.

Debunking Myths about Gay Marriage
January 7, 2006, 12:36AM

by: Saturnalia

Please forgive me for making this article so very long, but this is something I am very passionate about.

-------

About 75% of the population of the U.S. believes in equal rights for gays including property, employment, discrimination, etc., but about half the population is still against gay marriage. Where is the logic here? I think a lot of it stems from ignorance about the whole situation that in turn stems from the propaganda perpetuated by the religious/homophobic hatemongers opposed to gay marriage. So lets debunk some of these arguements against gay marriage.

1.) Gay marriage would force businesses to provide benefits to gay couples like it does for straight couples.

Why is this a bad thing? Don't gays deserve benefits such as health insurance, just the same as heterosexuals? Actually, a lot of company including most Fortune 500 companies, already provide benfits for same sex couples as they do for straight ones, and, a lot of the time, for the benefit of their own company. It actually makes money for them if they offer these benefits. It makes their stocks more attractive to socially progressive mutual funds, rights-conscious pension funds and independent investors. This increases upward pressure on its prices.

2.) Gay marriage would force clergy to marry gay couples even though they don't believe in it.

Since when was it written in any marriage laws that a priest would have to marry someone even if they had moral objections to it, whether they are gay or not? A lot of clergy still won't marry interracial couples or interreligious couples and no one is pressuring them to change their attitude toward these couples or reap legal repercussions or repercussions of any kind for that matter. Churches have always been able to refuse to marry anyone they want for any reason they want and that's not changing any time soon.

As for the question "well who is going to marry these people then?" I know of plenty of Unitarian, Pagan, Buddhist and many other clergy who are ready and willing to perform gay marriages. For that matter, even some Christian clergy have said they would be willing to do it.

3.) Legalizing gay marriage would create a downward spiral into legalizing incest, bestiality, polygamy and all sorts of horrible things.

This kind of propaganda is precisely tailored to incite fear in those who hear it. The "slippery slope", a classic scare tactic; make the end result look so horrible that no one wouldn't dare to take that first step. The truth is, there have already been countries that have legalized gay marriage or some form of it and nothing like incest, polygamy, etc. has ever come up.

Legalizing incest would be stupid because nobody wants to have a bunch of half retarded hick babies with webbed toes running around. Polygamy makes no sense because it's just not fair if one guy gets all the girls. The only reason societies (like many in the Middle East) in the past had legal polygamy is because a lot of the men were being killed in various wars and the ones who survived would come and take care of the widows and orphans. Bestiality? A dog can't give informed consent. That and it's a hell of a task trying to get one to sign a marriage license. Same goes for children under a certain age.

4.) Same sex marriage would just be an untried social experiment that shouldn't be forced on the American people.

Denmark legalized gay marriage in 1989. A lot of other European countries followed after their example and started legalizing it, or a form of it, including Spain and England recently. So basically, there's already been a long running "experiment" that we can examine, complete with quite positive results.

The opposition in Denmark was mostly lead by the Church, but they passed the gay marriage laws anyways. Back then, (1989) 75% of the clergy opposed it. After the laws were changed, they gradually started to change their minds after seeing the good it did for the country and by 1995 90% of the clergy agreed the change was a good one. The suicide rate went down. Promiscuity and infidelity among gays was less frequent thereby making the rate of sexually transmitted diseases go down as well. So, far from being "the destruction of Western civilization," the legalization of gay marriage has been quite positive and strengthening not just for the institution of marriage but for society as a whole.

5.) Marriage is traditionally a same-sex institution.

Slavery used to be a traditional institution, not just of the US but most of the world. By the 19th century it had been nearly abolished because people were realizing that it was morally wrong to deny rights of freedom to anyone. What about women's equality? This is also a relatively new concept but most would agree that it's a great idea. Just because it's a "tradition" doesn't make it right. For that matter, there have been plenty of societies in ancient times that have had gay marriage and embraced homosexuality.

6.) Gay marriage would threaten the institution of marriage.

Threaten the institution of marriage? How? By letting people marry? What a contradiction! By letting gays marry, you no longer encourage them to marry people they aren't attracted to and can relate very little to and bring children into a highly stressed environment. Legalizing gay marriage would reduce the divorce rate because it would become easier for an individual to find someone to marry whom they are more compatible with. Not only that, but after fighting for it for so long, it would be very hard to believe that they would give it up so easily and just divorce for petty reasons, like half the straight couples do. And speaking of which...

7.) Legalizing gay marriage would make the divorce rate skyrocket.

So letting people marry will cause more divorce? As stated above, if gay marriages were made legal there would be less divorce because nobody would feel obligated to marry the opposite sex even though they are not completely compatible with a heterosexual mate. Gays are fighting for the right to marry because (gasp!) they want to be married! Why fight for the right to marry if you're just going to turn around and get a divorce? If anything, the common ground of struggling for these rights would make the bond between married gay couples stronger.

Or is it that the opposition thinks that suddenly a whole slew of previously heterosexually married people will suddenly start divorcing their spouses because they were secretly gay all along? Well then, wouldn't it be better for these people to be happy instead of living a lie?

8.) Marriage is for procreation and the continuation of the species.

Okay, so lets make laws against marriage for infertile people and old people and those who choose to go on birth control. See how ludicrous this argument is? I don't know if I'm the only one noticing this but the world is getting way over-populated which is creating a lot of problems.

Marriage used to be mostly about money, what of that? A man would marry a woman for financial or social status reasons, more than for love and companionship. Our economy has become more stable since then, people no longer feel they have to put so much emphasis on finances when choosing a mate. People these days marry for love and affection and the lifelong companionship of someone they are compatible with. Procreation is just a secondary function. In fact, a lot more married couples are opting to not have children at all. Okay, yes, homosexuals can't procreate with each other, but a lot of them do want children and therefore must adopt. There are tons of homeless children who need a family to take care of them. And that brings me to...

9.) Same-sex parents aren't a good environment for children.

Let's take a look at who is allowed to marry and have children: convicted felons including murderers, known child molesters, pedophiles, drug dealers, gang members and a whole other load of society's bottom dwellers. These people are allowed to marry and procreate and do so all the time with hardly a protest from the same people who oppose gay parents. So if these people are so worried about the children, why allow these scumbags the right?

The truth is, lots of gay couples raise children either adopted or from previous failed heterosexual marriages. Tons and tons of scientific studies have shown that the outcome of children raised by gays is just as good as those raised by straights. Psychologists say that the difference in healthy children and screwed up children is the love and commitment the parents show a child, not the gender of the parents. Gay people can love children just as much or just as little as anyone else.

However, there will still be people who say that it's not right for a child to be raised by gay parents because they will get severely teased at school and end up having horrible social lives. This is not a problem with the parents, this is a problem with society. If society as a whole were more accepting of homosexuals, there would be no issue about a child of gay parents being ostracized or teased at school.

Then there are those who say that if you let gays have children, those children will grow up to be gay. This is also false, as there is no scientific or psychological study that has been conducted (and there have been many) that has concluded that gay parents produce gay children at a rate any higher than straight parents do. After all, straight parents don't always produce straight children.

10.) Homosexuality is unnatural.

People who say this know little about biology and the natural world. Many different species of animals show a certain percentage of their population to be homosexual, including dolphins, apes, lizards. Male bats have an even higher rate of homosexuality than humans do. There is a pair of gay penguins that have been an exclusive couple for 8 years, and even raised a chick together. Bonobo apes, a cousin of the Chimpanzee, are all completely bisexual, and use sex as a way to bring their community closer together. Interestingly, they are also the least violent apes.

11). Gay marriages are immoral.

Says who? The Bible? I thought this country had freedom of religion. Does that not also include freedom from religion? Even so, there are plenty of religions that don't see homosexuality as being immoral. The Bible has no standing in American law, so says the First Amendment. If you want to live in a country ruled by religion, move to Iran! Nobody has the right to impose their religious biases on anyone else.

However, since the Bible is constantly used as a weapon against homosexuality, lets take a look at that, shall we? The Bible states in the laws of Leviticus that it is an abomination for a man to lay with another man. The Bible also lists in Leviticus, but is by no means limited to, the following laws:

-it is an abomination to eat shellfish
-wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread is an abomination
-growing two different kinds of grain in the same field is also an abomination
-you are not allowed to touch any part of a woman during her menstrual period
-you may own slaves, but only if they are from neighboring countries
-the smell of a burning bull on an alter is pleasing to the Lord
-you may not cut your hair, especially around the temples

That is just a short list of the many laws in Leviticus. How many of these do modern Christians follow? How many of them make any sense? Also, do remember that Jesus himself never said anything about homosexuality. He was more concerned with equality, peace, and charity. Yet, just as in the cases of equal rights for African Americans, Christians have consistently tried to use the Bible as a tool of discrimination.

12.) Why not just give gays "Civil Unions"?

Since I brought up the Equal Rights fights of African Americans in the last section, does anyone remember the "Separate but Equal" laws? These laws stated that even though Black people couldn't go to the same restaurants, drink from the same water fountains, ride the same busses, etc., they were still considered to be "equal" to white people. These laws were eventually deemed to be highly hypocritical and contradictory. "Civil Union" does NOT mean Marriage. Equal means equal. Period. The concept of "Civil Union" is just another ploy to discriminate against homosexuals and to deny them true equality. Gays want equality, not some new version of "Separate but Equal". They are just as deserving of true marriage as any straight person.

We are now experiencing the exact same conflict that we were in the early 1960s. The Equal Rights of an entire faction of our population are being crushed by the religious, political and discriminative views of the ignorant in society. The only difference here is that we could see the difference in skin color, but we cannot see the difference in sexuality, causing many to suffer in silence.

Now I leave you with a quote from one of the men who worked hardest for civil rights and social justice:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'" - Martin Luther King Jr.

Why my parents decided to send me to a "Therapeutic" Boarding Sc
January 6, 2006, 7:53PM

by: Pearl_Clover

It was a number of problems that led my family to decide to put me in a "therapeutic" boarding school. We will discuss these problems now in an essay format (kind of).

Well, I was diagnosed in 6th grade with Asperger's syndrome (which is like autism, but milder).6th grade was the year things started messing up. Well for one thing, I was being very much bullied by Jacob m. and his clan just for being different. The school work was very hard and some of the classes were too challenging. For the most part the teachers were very cruel towards me, especially one named Bruce. I hid these feelings from my mom, but she eventually found out.

So I got sent to a school for severely LD and some Asperger's syndrome kids called Riverview. However, the academic work was way too easy this time. Despite that I still thought most of the kids were nice.

I started my problems at Riverview towards the end of 7th grade. It was basically hitting teachers. I got suspended towards the end of the year because I had hit teachers eight times.

Then I came back in eighth grade. I tried out for the junior varsity soccer team, in which the guy I had a crush on girlfriend was on.

One day, I was furious because they didn't play the song on the loudspeaker I had requested that day. So I stormed into my dorm and put limp bizkit in the CD player on maximum volume. The dorm staff told me to turn it down. I did and ran out. I ran to the soccer field and punched/kicked that girl very brutal. She went to the hospital and almost had to get surgery.

I got expelled from Riverview and sent to my current boarding school, which is therapeutic. I'm glad to say I'm not that angry anymore and I haven't hit anybody in 4 years. Therapeutic means that it is for people with emotional problems. I will be graduating from there in august 2006.I am eighteen.

This is one of my favorate movies. its about an Punk living in Salt Lake City after graduateing from the Universaty of Utah, in the 1980's. He lives with his best friend Herion Bob in an appartment an quote. "no money, no real job and no plans for the future, a true anarchist positon." "It's a rental for when you've seen everything else and are in the mood for some rebellion."
You'll laugh your ass of an i'm not ganan lie you might shed some tears. Steve-o is torn between the fear of poverty brought up by someone in his past or to go to Harvard law school like his father had planed for him.

"For Stevo, living in Reagan-era Salt Lake City, rebellion is an imperative. A recent grad, his world centers on anarchy, refusing the system, and the music of The Ramones, Dead Kennedys and The Specials. His ex-hippie father sees this lifestyle as an important rite of passage, yet urges Stevo to attend Harvard Law School, as he did. Not to sell out to the system, but to buy in. For Stevo, underneath the mohawk, earrings and leather, the idea, painfully, has some merit. The question becomes, how do you stay hard-core and still hope for a life beyond?"

Its an all around good movie an i suggest you check it out.
p.s. if my explaining this movie suxed, sry im new at this. : )

Difficulties

Taken from my blog at http://www.satchell.blog-city.com
When you are observing somthing you want to be as objective as possible. If you allow your feelings to get in the way you will report flawed results. When you have actions (for a large company for instance) that are also warped due to personal feeling based on those results then you don’t get 100% results from that. What I am trying to say is all human observation is flawed. A camera for instance only records what it sees because it cannot analyze and skew its recordings. That’s why photography is so great. You can capture what you want to show with perfection. You don’t need to observe and memorize your results so you can toss them about on such a blog... not to say that I don’t have a vast amount of pride in this blog. It can never be 100% correct. Good thing I am not here to give 100% perfect results... just my thoughts. So it works out. Another thing I wanted to talk about is how everyone has difficulty accepting radical change. Revolutions are necessary in order to keep civilization in check. With any new government change a huge ripple of anger and rebellion spread. For instance I was not overjoyed at new years because I saw it as pointless. Why celebrate a random date when you can celebrate every single day the same way? Why put off progression and evolution when you can have a cup full of it daily? Because people are afraid of change and need to roll it all up into a single date so they can lie to themselves and pass it off as change. I will stop drinking. I will quit smoking. I will get a new lifestyle. Lies! I choose not to lie to myself because social traditions tell me to and most do not accept that. In older times young boys needed to take up large amounts of responsibilities because off famine or poor living conditions. Now living conditions have gotten better (for some. lots of poor still around) so people can take less responsibility. I will give you an example. Anyone ever seen a Christmas story? You can’t have that air rifle because you would shoot your eye out. In older times kids were given weapons to train with so they could fight. Here Jacob... have a 20lb axe... don’t chop off your leg! Then you will need to hop to the tiger. So in conclusion my outlook on life is changing and I think yours should too.
