Re: Best Rapper ever.

Pahaha have you heard yourself? I stole my playlist from someone? You're such a child and desparate to validate your points now, it's pathetic. Go pop along to my profile, you'll see how far reaching my musical tastes are. Better yet take a couple of hours out and listen to my playlist before jumping to conclusions. I love every single genre except for pop music (and I spent years listenign to pop believe me).

I spend thousands on music every year so it's simply laughable you'd suggest that. Just because my views aren't your own your desparate to dispprove. You don't know me, you've only just started speaking to me, admittedly not off to a good footing but i'm not one to hold a grudge. Perhaps you haven't explored music enough to realize most music is FORMULAIC. Thus the majority of rappers will stick to stereotypical lyrics and themes which are popular and make money. There are a few diamonds amongst the coal but on the whole it's stereotypical, but that's what makes exploring music so rewarding.

If I want to be real language has a greater impact? How so? This is your opinion, any fool can open his mouth and make noise. How many people can master the artform that is jazz? Music is expressing yourself and feelings. My preference is via instruments, yours isn't. So what?

All prejudice is pretty equally unjustifiable to me, so you're the one "nitpicking" about that. I was simply bewildered by the constant repetition of "tea and biscuits".

Because I can't remember the lyrcis of every song i've heard. If you looked at my list (not including the 750+ bands & artists I didn't include) you might realize that I can't exactly keep tabs on who did what. I create playlists of bands I like and similar artists. I listen to it all and keep what I enjoy. I've got over 4000 5 star songs. So no I'm not going into detail about your fabled "Dead Prez" just how you went into no detail about all the gang knowledge you have. So there's a rapper who avoids stereotypes, you act like I should be surprised by this and consider them Jesus or remember them and all their lyrics for the rest of my life?
No idea who Vanilla Ice is. No I didn't say anyone could rap, I said anyone could open their mouth and talk. Because you seemed to consider lyrics (which could be sung, spoken or rapped) to hold much more importance than mastery of an instrument like a Jazz musician has done.

Insert vaguely threatening nonsensical statement to try and appear deep and meaningful here.

I never said I listened to the majority of rap. Again you're taking a lot from what's not there. It's a rap stereotype. I said music is formulaic, you can argue about that as much as you want. A lot of music isn't inspirational. It's bland and it's rather talentless. Pop music is stereotypically about love. Rap is often about gangsters and violence. metal is often about angst and anger. Reggae is often about rastafarianism and the decadence of the western world. These are summaries. I haven't listened to the entirity of rap and neither have you. I think you're under the impression your ethnicity validates your claims but it really doesn't At this point I think we're going to have to agree to disagree.

So in summary I dislike 2pac and I think a lot of rap is stereotypical and pretty lame. I'd like to summarise you but I fear I couldn't without being kicked form this website

Thank you and good night

Much love

Ed

Nitpick: âto be concerned with or find fault with insignificant details"

...so to miss the bigger picture. Whatâs the bigger picture here?

My post didn't take a side in the debate, thus no need for me to critique raggamuffin's posts.

My post definitely wasn't "nitpicking". The definition of "nitpicking" is excessive faultfinding over minute details. Repeating "tea and biscuits" four times isn't "minute", and simply commenting that I find it "bizarre" (meaning "peculiar" and "amusing") can hardly be described as "excessive faultfinding". 10.gif
