PacSun T-Shirt Collaboration From: Sheree Johnson (tmpsjohnso@pacificsunwear.com) Sent: Mon 10/19/09 11:56 AM To: mypizzaroll@hotmail.com (mypizzaroll@hotmail.com) Attachments: 3 attachments | Download all attachments (5.8 MB) image.jpg (21.4 KB), _PACSUN_F...jpg (2.9 MB), _PACSUN_F...jpg (2.9 MB) Hi Sterling,
My name is Sheree Johnson and I am an associate creative manager for PacSun. I wanted to talk to you about the potential of featuring your artwork in a large t-shirt collaboration we’re going to be presenting this Spring.
First off, I just want to let you know about some exciting changes in the company. We have been heading in a much different direction recently, one that is more about youth culture, fashion and music, while still keeping the SoCal vibe in tact. In addition to our second annual Pac Tour, we have launched several projects such as a music site, an online marketing calendar and an in-store publication called aStory magazine that are attracting a more in-tune customer. I have attached the cover art for aStory Magazine and links to both astoryontheweb.com and the theskinny.pacsun.com so you can get a feel of our direction. On top of that we are doing a promotion with the Ice Cream Man, sponsoring his entire tour, passing out free ice cream at major music and arts festivals throughout the summer/fall months. You can see footage of his stops and the private music performances he’s inspired at http://www.babelgum.com/icecreamman >
So the collaboration would be as follows.
* 12 collaboration shirts on the YM (guys) side of the store. o 2 bands, 4 artists, 2 photographers * The shirts would be featured in a larger marketing campaign consisting of o In-store/windows marketing o Online community posts o Banner ads o Emails to our database of 1.6 million users o aStory magazine artist feature o Potential promos in publications: Nylon, Nylon Guys, Foam, Teen Vogue * The shirts would be featured in our top 450 stores with approximately 160,000 units bought. * Each artist and photographer would submit 3 or 4 pieces of their work for 1 piece to be used on the t-shirt * Each shirt would have a screen printed logo from the artist, as well as a link to their website on the inside of the shirt (or whatever they desire) * Each shirt would be displayed on the front table with a flag and pin profiling the artist and educating the customer about their purchase. These shirts will never go on sale or be placed in the back of the store.
Because this is our first go at a YM’s collaboration, your participation would be exposure-only; no monetary compensation. This would be a great chance for some big recognition as the shirts will be front and center in over 450 stores all over the U.S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico as well as online.
I know there are a lot of questions to be answered, but please just let me know if there is interest. If you have any questions, shoot me your number and we can chat. We are looking to get prospects for the collaboration into our offices as soon as possible, so feel free to reach out to me!
(Psst. . . Really love your work. You are a very talented young man. Really hope you contact us back!)
Looking forward to speaking soon, Sheree --

| Re: pacsun | November 5, 2009, 8:22PM | nah well i didn't even get it. cause i live in Idaho now and they wanted me to go to pasadena california to their office or whatever and they weren't gonna pay me anything or even pay for me to go down there so my dad didn't want to go all the way there for free. so im disappointed but what can i do.
| | Re: pacsun | November 5, 2009, 10:30PM | That's too bad. But at least you have your foot in the door.
